I love finding the best pound shops in London. Bargain stores, discount products, and all the greatest brands and shops where you can get everything for £1 – they’re life. I’m always on the lookout for the nearest Poundland, and everything’s a pound shop addresses. Living in London on a budget is not the easiest thing to do, but when you find addresses for one pound shop London, you just dive into them. You don’t really care why is Poundland so cheap, you just enjoy the fact that there are some of the best discount stores and bargain shops in the city.

The Best Budget Shops in London

I’ve decided to share the 8 best discount superstores in the UK because they’ve literally saved my life more than once. From amazing British chocolate brands to telephone chargers, from awesome notebooks to dishwashing liquid, there’s everything you need in those pound shops.

Most importantly, at the time I was an active makeup artist, I was always looking for new makeup; new textures, new colors. Going to the biggest Poundland near me would ensure finding new lipsticks from amazing underrated UK makeup brands like Makeup Gallery, Collection, and sometimes even mainstream makeup brands like Rimmel or Maybelline.

You must know by now that I am a sucker for the best British drugstore makeup brands, cool stationery, and anything cheap, really. I just love coming across cool, cheap brands that I did not expect. If you want to find shops where everything’s a pound, or just a bit more, keep reading. I love cheap stores, I love finding items for a pound and getting some cool Poundland groceries and TK Maxx bargain clothes and candles is one of my fave things to do in London.

8 Best Discount Stores & Budget Shops in London

Who doesn’t love browsing the best discount stores? When you can get your favorite brands and more of everything for £1, you just feel happy. The rest of your budget can go on a great lunch on the cheap. Or on more outlet store finds.

From TK Maxx (one of my favorite discounts shops in London) to Poundland, from Savers to Tiger, I’m about to show you the best outlet and home discount stores. Thank me later, when you find items for a pound that you would have paid £10 or more in other shops!

Poundland

Poundland UK is one of my favorite pound shops. Who doesn’t like finding amazing items for a pound? I always find everything I want from this one pound shop London. Notebooks, amazing stationery from great brands like Staedtler, makeup from brands like Rimmel, Collection, and even Poundland’s own makeup brand – Makeup Gallery…

If you have kids, you know that Poundland deals are great for those chocolatey snacks, and those toys that won’t break the bank. Several times, I’ve looked up the biggest Poundland near me, and so far the biggest ones are on Camden High Street, Seven Sisters Road, Portobello Road, and Roman Road. Those discount stores are pretty big wherever you are though – just look for the nearest Poundland on their website store locator and you’re set.

Unfortunately, since Poundland UK stores are located in the suburbs, there’s no Poundland on Oxford Street and in the very center of London. The closest ones will be on Portobello Road and in Hoxton, in East London. Still, that home discount store offers the best discount outlets and you’re sure to find everything you were looking for – and more.

Savers

Savers is another really good pound deals shop. It’s a bit more expensive than just everything for £1, since the chain also offers big brand names. Savers is more of a poundshop perfume, beauty, and health kind of store.

You will definintely find items for a pound there, and I do prefer Poundland to Savers because I am sure that most of my items will cost £1 there. Poundland really is the dollar store UK option that ensures you won’t break the bank.

Still, Savers offers a huge range of bargain and budget beauty products. When it comes to shops like Poundland in London, Savers is the closest discount products store to visit.

Often, both discount superstores are located closeby – competition, competition. So, if you need some bargain perfume, deodorant, or wipes, Savers will be the one offering more brand names.

T.K. Maxx

Let’s talk about T.K. Maxx, one of the ultimate best bargain shops in London. We’re getting further away from pound shops where everything is one pound or 99p. This is a chain of stores named T.J. Maxx in the United States, and as far as home discount stores go, that’s the one that lingers in my heart.

In T.K. Maxx, I’m used to buying the very best candles – I am a freelance writer, as you might know, and music and candles are very much part of my zone when I really want to be efficient. Candles cost as little as £2.99 and as much as £16.99 there – and the RRP is usually much, much higher. The great thing is that the candle brands are usually imported from the USA or other countries where using soya wax is a real thing, and where the scent is really important.

You can also find some cheap designer clothes at T.K. Maxx London, from independent fashion brands like Nobody’s Child to high-end designer brand names like Dolce & Gabbana. We’re not in shops like Poundland, we’re getting a bit more high end, but never have I been disappointed in what I got from TK Maxx.

You can even find some food there, countless jewelry pieces, and lots of beauty and health products. Brands like Profusion Cosmetics, Makeup Revolution, Technic… All the small UK makeup brands that you don’t usually find in discounts shops and cheap stores because they’re only available online or in shops like Superdrug and Boots.

My favorite T.K. Maxx stores in London are the one in Greenwich (called Homesense TK Maxx), the one on Oxford Street, and the one on Long Acre near Covent Garden – they’re usually very well-stocked and you’re sure to find amazing things. The store in Greenwich is the one with the most candles if that’s something you’re well-versed in.

Poundstretcher

If you’re looking for other shops like Poundland in London, then Poundstretcher has got all the pound deals you could dream of. The atmosphere is very much more “99p store UK” kind of vibe, less warm, but just as efficient. If you were looking for a proper dollar store UK, that’s the one.

Poundstretcher stores offer lots of grocery options, and they’re also amazingly cheap stores if you need to find homeware. Cleaning products, curtains, towels, bin bags… That’s that kind of everything’s a pound shop. They’re all very much scattered on the outskirts of London, with the most central Poundstretcher on Kentish Town Road.

By the way, if you’ve never been on Kentish Town Road, that’s really a street you need to visit in London. It’s full of the most amazing – and most underrated – charity shops in London, with lots of discount fashion offers, books, and homeware.

Wilko

Wilko seems to me like a high class pound shop. It’s not a one pound everything store, but all the products are still very affordable – more than T.K. Maxx, for instance. Inside Wilko, you don’t find many discount beauty products at all. There are health products and the usual shower gels, but not much pound deals on makeup.

Wilko is more of a true home discount store, with pound deals on blankets, salt, photo frames, or hanging racks for instance. As far as bargain shops go in London, Wilko is an outlet store where I really feel good. The lights and atmosphere are bright, and you just feel like you could find anything you need in there, even if you were looking to buy a piece of moon or a car wheel.

Discounts stores like Wilko make the world turn – the one in Stratford London is pretty big and offers an impressive range of snacks that you can only find in the UK. And don’t we love going to discount stores to find new British snacks to try?

Hema

Hema is not a British bargain shop, and it does not offer everything for £1. However, this is a shop like Poundland or Wilko when it comes to replacing the amazing options you could find at H&M Home or Zara Home, for instance. Really cheap, and amazing quality for a discount store.

Hema only sells the Hema brand – no other brand names. You can find an amazing range of excellent quality makeup there, and their stationery is second to none. Hema plays on great visuals: all their items are beautiful and a pride to own. That’s where you see that even on pound deals and in discounts stores, attention to detail is of the utmost importance.

I especially love their chocolate – they offer some never-before-seen chocolate recipes like marshmallow, fudge apple pie, or banoffee. They have an online bargain shop too from which you can order, and click & collect or receive your order at home.

If you’re a jewelry lover, Hema also carries their own range that can be compared to that of H&M, Kiabi, or Claire’s for a fraction of the price. Their kitchenware and homeware is also to die for – you just want to buy everything!

B&M Stores

B&M stores are a home discount chain that resembles Wilko – they have everything homeware stands for. Candles, stationery, curtains, towels, Christmas decorations, groceries… Not everything’s a pound, but many products are heavily discounted and make it a pleasure to shop at the B&M discount stores.

Like many of those pound shops, B&M are located on the outskirts of London. The most central store would be the one on Old Kent Road (SE15). Need coffee? Need Dettol? Need a notebook? You can find every product discounted and ready to enjoy from B&M in London.

Tiger

Tiger, like Hema, is not a UK poundshop. However, this Danish discount stores chain offers some amazing homeware budget options. I love going there because I know that I will find whatever it is I’m looking for, from canvas to paint on to candles, from yoga bricks to reading glasses.

This discount outlet chain is big on visuals, with some great pound deals. Not everything costs one pound, and it’s definitely not a 99p shop UK. However, you can find Tiger stores all around London, even on Oxford Street or in Stratford commercial center.

This cheap shop is perfect if you’re looking to make a small gift for someone you love: a notebook and cute pens, a teapot and a mug, colored light garlands, and I’ve even seen a banjo, and a ukulele last time I visited.

Careful though, the Tiger cheap stores will have you spending like crazy – absolutely everything is beautiful, stylish, and mouthwatering. Just makes you want to put your hand to your pocket and spend it all. Then again, it’s okay to treat yourself once in a while, innit.

Maxx or Wilko just makes me joyful. I love the fact that most of those stores are one-stop shops where I can get the best bargains. Those cheap stores in London are lifesavers, be it at the beginning or the end of the month.
