10 Amazingly Best Dog Cafes in London

Some time ago, I wrote about the best cat cafes in London, and it was only a matter of time before I wrote a guide to the best dog cafes in London too. Just to be clear, there are plenty of absolutely amazing dog friendly cafes in London – but I won’t be talking about just that today. When I talk about the cool London dog cafes, I’m talking about cafes where dogs are roaming the place as if they were owning it. When I’m looking for dog cafes near me though, most of the time, I come across dog friendly cafes in London. So I’ve made a mix.

Starting with dog cafes where indeed, the dogs and pups are roaming around freely and ending with some of the best dog friendly cafes in London – most of them being in Central London. There are so many famous unusual cafes in the city (some being all pink and flower cafes in Chelsea, for instance), and honestly, I don’t think you can get quirkier cafes than cat cafes and dog cafes in London – am I right?

Luckily enough, most of the dog cafes in London I’ll mention here today are located in Central London. If you’ve been to The London Local before, you probably know I’m always looking for the best cafes to work in London, or just coffee shops to chill – like cute independent cafes in Camden

There’s definitely a vibe when it comes to visiting dog cafes near me because I know I’m going to find there a level of relaxation I don’t usually find while interacting with human beings (antisocial blogger, hello!). I don’t own a dog, since I move around a lot, but being able to find a dog-friendly cafe in London will most often ensure I’ll find some cute doggos to pet, there with their friendly owners.

To be fair, the atmosphere will be very different than that you can find in a cat cafe in London like Lady Dinah’s or Whiskers and Cream. I mean, cats are not dogs, hey. And sometimes, even with pups and cute dogs, some of those places can make for amazing cafes to study in London.

Dog Cafes in London: Verve London Pet Boutique

Verve Pet Boutique definitely belongs at the top of this guide to the best dog cafes in London. Not only because it’s one of the most dog friendly cafes, but also because it is not just a cafe. Beyond serving drinks and allowing you to bring about your dog, Verve Pet Boutique also takes care of doggos from A to Z.

The concept of this dog friendly cafe in London is very simple – you start with £5 per person and have to spend a minimum of £10 while you’re there. For that amount of money, you can get a sweet treat and chill while playing around with the dogs at Verve Pet Boutique. But did you know that is also one of the best cat cafes in London? And not only that – Verve also has birds.

Located at Notting Hill Gate, Verve Pet Boutique could be a really nice place to relax, maybe after visiting Portobello Market, one of the best markets in London? By the way, you can also take your dog to be groomed there, and if you need dog accessories, toys, and organic pet food, Verve probably also has them. And if you’d like to throw a party for your dog, that’s also the perfect venue to do so in the city. All around, just one of the very best dog cafes in London.

London Dog Cafe Events: Pug Café

What makes Pug Café one of the really unusual dog cafes in London is the fact that it’s moving around. Originally set in Newcastle, Pug Café often has pop-up dog friendly cafes in London, most of the time taking place at Devonshire Square in Central London. Unlike Verve Pet Boutique, the Pug Café is not a dog cafe made to pet dogs in the shop.

Rather, it’s a cafe where you can bring your dog so they can socialize with other pups. The Pug Café event Pop + Bark clearly is the most popular of all the dog friendly events held by the brand. During Pop + Bark, Pug Café has a mobile dog friendly bar serving Pupuccinos, drinks made especially for dogs. Such a fun initiative, and even if you don’t own a dog, dog lovers are more than welcome at the Pug Café events, especially if you’re looking to make new friends.

Best London Dog Cafe: Paws for Coffee

If you’re looking for dog cafes located just a bit further from the center of London, then Paws For Coffee might be a great destination for you. Located on Hampton Hill, Paws For Coffee is a great coffee shop where you’re going to be able to pet dogs. That’s also one of the best dog cafes in London for whoever wants to bring their dog and have breakfast or lunch there. There are two menus there, one for human beings and one for furry animals. So if you are looking for unusual cafes in London, there you have it with Paws For Coffee.

Like most cat and dog cafes in London, Paws For Coffee was established by a founder who loves animals. Louise Rawlinson is a dog trainer and her love for animals led her to start her own dog-friendly cafe in London just a few years ago. There’s a park nearby, one of the most underrated parks in London, Bushy Park, where you’ll be able to take your dog for a walk afterward if you’d like to.

The highlight of the cafe, of course, remains the equality, love, and diversity you’ll enjoy at Paws for Coffee. One of the most unusual, and clearly best dog cafes in London, especially with the free treats offered to your pup when you visit.

London Dog Cafe: Dandie Dog Cafe

Then, we have one really cool London dog cafe in Hampstead, in North London, the Dandie Dog Cafe. It’s one of the most famous cafes in London for pets, there are no two ways to go about it. This dog friendly cafe allows you to take your dog with you to socialize and chill while eating amazing sweet treats.

Aside from just being another dog cafe in London, they also offer quite a few amazing activities that you can do with your dog. The food there is decadently fresh, and you’ll even be able to enjoy a vegan breakfast there if needed. For pups, there is a dog menu as well.

That includes yoga sessions both for you and your dog, and dog sitting if you need to be somewhere and can’t take your dog with you. There are even speed dating events for dog lovers looking to find love, and if you’d like to throw a birthday party for your pup, you can also do so at the Dandie Dog Cafe. All around, one of the coolest dog cafes in London for anything you might need in terms of socialization and events, and you can even hire the full venue for yourself.

Dog Friendly Cafes in London: Ozone Coffee Roasters

Some time ago I wrote about Ozone Coffee Roasters and qualified it as one of the best cafes to work in London if you’re around Shoreditch and East London in general. More than a great cafe to work and study, it is also one of the most dog-friendly cafes in London. It’s just hitting all the right spots with Ozone Coffee Roasters being one of the best coffee roasters in London, in the UK, and probably in the whole world.

This unique cafe is large enough that you can work and study there without being disturbed. They also have a great playlist playing in the background at all times of the day and great pastries, including vegan ones. If you’ve been to The London Local before, you know that I’m always looking for cafes near me that are all-inclusive, whether we’re talking about halal breakfast or vegan bakeries. it’s just very important to me to include everyone and the fact that was Ozone Coffee Roasters is exactly on the same vibe as I am, makes it that much more interesting in terms of dog-friendly cafes in London.

Obviously, with Ozone Coffee Roasters being located in Shoreditch, it’s perfect for anyone looking for amazing cafes to work in London, but also people looking for a break before they set out on finding the best things to do in Brick Lane (like eating multicolor bagels!). Or, finding cool things to do in Shoreditch, like checking out amazing street art in East London. Just a winner all around.

Best Dog Friendly Cafes in London: Franzè & Evans

Now, Franzè & Evans is one of the best cafes in Shoreditch, but did you know it’s also a dog friendly cafe? Having lived for more than a year between London and Rome, I’m definitely addicted to Italian cafes in London when I’m not back “home” in Italy. And Franzè & Evans, a proper Italian cafe, earns some more good points with the fact that they’re one of the most chill dog friendly cafes in London.

It’s also a family-run deli, and it’s open for breakfast and lunch and becomes a candlelight restaurant at nighttime – probably one of the most romantic restaurants in London, I’d say. So if you’re looking for the best cafes in Shoreditch, you can treat yourself to French toast, croissants, and vegan yogurt in the morning, for instance.

All the meats there are halal – so if you’re looking for a halal brunch in London, that’s also going to be a perfect destination for you. Halal, vegan, and a dog friendly cafe – there’s just a bit of everything for everyone at Franzè & Evans.

Dog Cafes in London: Stanford’s Coffee House

Stanfords Coffee House is one of the most unusual cafes in London in that it’s set in a bookshop. I love finding the best bookshops in London, and I’ve already written a few guides about that on The London Local, including the best second hand bookstores in London a while back – which you should definitely check out if you love finding cheap used books.

Stanfords is the biggest travel bookshop in the world, and probably one of the oldest as well. Located on Mercer Walk in Seven Dials, it is also a really cool dog friendly cafe. The only condition for you to be able to bring your dog is that they take a picture with the map floors as the background – that’s just about it.

If you’re as greedy as I am, and have read all about the best bakeries in London, for instance, you’ll love to know that Stanfords cafe is filled with delicious pastries and, of course – artisan coffee. Couldn’t wish for more, or better, right in Central London – one of the best cafes in Covent Garden.

Cool Dog Cafes in London: Scootercaffe

Ah, Italian coffee shops in London – Italian caffè, as it’s supposed to be. It can be pretty expensive in London, especially when you’re in Central London. But usually, when I look for the best cafes around me, I’ll either choose a place among the best coffee roasters in London, or an Italian cafe. And the fact that you’ve got Scootercaffe around Waterloo serving some great Italian coffee, and being one of the most dog friendly cafes in London just ticks all the boxes.

It’s definitely one of the most unusual cafes in London. Scootercaffe (also known as Scooterworks) has still kept the decor from the repair shop it used to be. As such, you do have scooters and plenty of quirky decorations in the Waterloo coffee shop. Located on Lower Marsh, Scootercaffe could also be considered a cute cat cafe, with two resident cats so cute you’ll want to come back only to pet them.

Although there are two cats there, Scootercaffe definitely is one of the best dog cafes in London, and with that level of decor and atmosphere, you can only feel good there. Really tiny coffee shop, and probably one of the best hidden gems in London.

Best Dog Cafes in London: Cafe Murano

There are several Cafe Murano around London, with the most famous cafes being in Covent Garden and Bermondsey. I’m in definite love with the Bermondsey and London Bridge areas – I worked at The Shard for almost a year, and have had all the time in the world to find the best things to do in London Bridge

If you’re looking for artisan coffee, I’ve written a guide for you some time ago about the best cafes in London Bridge, which you might want to check out if you’re looking for great atmosphere, coffee, and delicious pastries. Also, it’s located super close to White Cube, one of the best free galleries in London, and one of my definite favorites.

Cafe Murano is yet another Italian cafe in London that focuses on Italian foods and drinks – just the way I like them. There is a definite mix between Italian and English food in the breakfast and brunch menus, with goat curd tickling sourdough and nduja. Cafe Murano is a dog friendly cafe, so if your dog knows to behave well, he’ll be more than welcome at this Bermondsey cafe restaurant.

London Dog Cafe: Coleman Coffee Roasters

The last one on this list of the best dog cafes in London is Coleman Coffee Roasters, located, like Scootercaffe, on Lower Marsh near Waterloo. It’s one of the most underrated cafes ever, much like some other dog friendly cafes in London I’ve mentioned here today. First of all, because the roasted coffee is decadently delicious there. Made in a vintage coffee machine, the Waterloo coffee has been pouring since 2010.

In addition to amazing coffee, Coleman Coffee Roasters also makes their own pastries, including their very famous oatcakes. If you’re looking for super cool dog friendly cafes in London, you will want to visit their flagship coffee shop on Lower Marsh without a doubt. Probably not one of the best cafes to work in London, but definitely great to just relax and take a moment for yourself. The cafe is open every day, but it closes quite early, so you might want to go for a morning treat!

So there you have them all the best dog cafes in London including dog-friendly cafes where you can bring your pop and just have a good time. Unfortunately, much like the amazing cat coffee shops in London that I have talked about quite on time ago, there are not that many dog cafes in London. However, if you want to have a dog-friendly brunch, there are more than enough puppy cafe options you can visit to get for instance the best breakfast or the best brunch in London during the week.

When it comes to dog friendly cafes in London, I would definitely call beforehand to try and assess whether the cafe is going to be busy when you intend to come. I mean, even if they are unusual cafes in London, if they are busy your pup might not feel comfortable and behave well.

If you’d like to find out about more amazing things to discover aside from dog cafes in London, here is what I can recommend:

Until next time!

PS. Did you know there are amazing lakes in London around Hampstead? Yep, yep!
