Best Halal Breakfast in East London: Grounded
Time and again, I’ve mentioned Grounded as the it-place to get the best halal English breakfast in East London. Located just off Aldgate East tube station, it’s a stone’s throw away from the free Whitechapel Gallery and Aldgate Square, where you can spot the cherry blossom in London. Don’t know why I’m mentioning cherry blossom, but it must be because I’m in my period of cute Japanese gardens in London, and I just can’t wait for the cherry blossom to come back every year.
Why Grounded?
In terms of atmosphere, Grounded definitely is one of the best halal places to eat in East London. Their halal English breakfast is to die for, and the rustic slash modern slash organic chord they play on echoes the decor pretty well. I’ve always loved their eggs on sourdough toast, and I think by now, we all know how crazy I am about sourdough. I feel like that’s the item in a halal English breakfast or halal brunch that I never go without.
In addition to their amazing Full English halal breakfast in East London, Grounded Whitechapel offers many amazing pastries in London. I’m half French and half Moroccan, and it’s very important to me to get my daily dose of sugar.
When I’m not looking for the best French bakery in London, I’ll be onto delicious coffee shops in Stoke Newington or looking for the best breakfast in Covent Garden. And best believe that if you’re looking for the best halal breakfast in East London, the queue of people waiting for their Full English fix will help you understand just how coveted this halal restaurant is.
Halal Breakfast in East London: Dulce Coffee
Dulce Coffee is one of my first loves when it comes to halal breakfast in London. The first time I ever visited this restaurant in East London was years ago, and I still remember the food and the service like it was yesterday. How can I put that? The best halal English Breakfast in Aldgate East, no doubt. Especially when you know that the owner is Moroccan, so that’s part of my culture, and partly why I support this family-run business so much.
Many times, I’ve started my days off with a halal breakfast in East London at Dulce Coffee. Then, I would take the Tube to the European Bookshop near South Kensington cafes, buy a book or two, and end the day cheap designer shopping in London, most often at the Icon Outlet in Greenwich.
Some waiters and waitresses at Dulce Coffee have been around forever, and they’ve never lost their passion. The cooks are still cooking the most delicious halal breakfast in East London as if they’d just started and wanted to impress. Because they do, want to impress. At Dulce Coffee – definitely one of the best halal restaurants in East London, the customer really is king.

Halal Breakfast in East London: Cafe East
The first year I moved to London, I was living in Mile End and was visiting Roman Road very often. There, you have the Roman Road Market and lots of independent shops in London that are really worth the trip to East London. Even when all you want to do is check out all the cool fun things to do in Central London. Near Roman Road, the thing is, you have Cafe East, a restaurant that serves the very best halal breakfast in London.
There are no two ways to go about it. Living in Mile End, whenever I was looking for a halal Full English breakfast near me, Cafe East would pop up. In addition to that, tremendous pancakes, fluffy and chewy exactly as I like them, and lots of other sweet treats and cakes are available on the Cafe East menu. It’s not just about halal breakfast in East London anymore. It’s about delicious service, and an unforgettable atmosphere for breakfast or even the best halal brunch in London when you feel like it.
Halal Breakfast in East London: Big Moe’s Diner
Ah, yes, maybe we’re not talking about the best halal steak in London, but Big Moe’s should definitely rank up there, along with the best halal breakfast in East London. There are several branches to Big Moe’s restaurants in London, but my favorite is and will always remain the one in Aldgate East.
It’s located super close to Dulce Coffee, Grounded, and Brick Lane as well. So if you’re ever in the area, looking for the best halal Full English Breakfast before going out and about sightseeing in London, Big Moe’s Diner is a definitive restaurant to visit.
I remember the first time I ordered a halal breakfast in East London at Big Moe’s Diner. I couldn’t even finish my plate. It was huge and delicious, with recipes all blended together perfectly. Herbs and sauces, spices and hash browns, delicious halal turkey rashers and sausages… You really just need to visit halal Michelin star restaurants in London to have the best fine dining experience, in my opinion.
I’m salivating with the remembrance of this delicious halal Full English breakfast I’ve been given to eat time and again at Big Moe’s Diner. Just a delicious halal restaurant in East London, and one of the best at that. We’re not at the level of romantic halal restaurants with a view of London, but honestly, the feeling of being fully satisfied is one I can compare to delicious halal fine dining in Mayfair, for instance.
Halal Breakfast in East London: The Gourmet Hut
The Gourmet Hut really is this oh-too-underrated restaurant for a halal breakfast in London, and that’s a fact. First of all, it’s tucked a bit higher up around Whitechapel slash Mile End Road, on Cavell Street. The location only makes getting a halal English breakfast at The Gourmet Hut something of a secret, like a lil’ hidden gem in London.
I’ve mentioned The Gourmet Hut as one of the best halal restaurants in East London a while back. Especially if you want to get a delicious halal breakfast. But beyond a halal Full English, The Gourmet Hut is mostly famous for its amazing halal burgers in London. Halal burgers are something most of us are often after, and even if there are loads of halal burger restaurants in Central London – around Leicester Square and Covent Garden, for instance, finding the perfect gem right in the heart of East London makes matters simpler and more delish.
Halal brunch or halal Full English breakfast in East London is done and covered with The Gourmet Hut. If you’d like to get lunch or dinner there, it’s also possible. A true one-stop-shop among all the best halal places to eat in East London, easily.
Patisserie East
Now, Patisserie East isn’t that much of a newcomer anymore when it comes to places in East London for halal breakfast. But I remember when it opened, and I remember passing by almost every day when I was living in Mile End and walking to Aldgate East and even further just for the fun of it. Patisserie East is one of those halal cafes in London that would be perfect for breakfast, brunch, lunch, and afternoon treats.
It’s true that I’m always on the lookout for the best halal breakfast in East London because I know this specific area has control over flavors and halal food like no other London restaurant has. And that’s just a fact. At Patisserie East, you can start the day with a halal Full English breakfast, if you’d like to.

However, if you’re just not feeling meat, you can get a mix of salmon and eggs, or an egg and cheese sandwich, specifically made for breakfast. I’d really still like to highlight that Patisserie East, despite its sweet and sugary name, still does offer some really cool savory specials like their delicious lamb burgers and salt beef platters.
We all know that even when we’re looking for cool halal cafes in London for breakfast, someone is always going to end up choosing a weird option that doesn’t echo the word ‘breakfast’ at all. That would definitely be me. If at some point you’d rather try and find the best pancakes in London – or have a crepe or waffle craving, then you’d do well to pay a visit to Patisserie East.
Halal Breakfast Whitechapel: Cafe Casablanca
I think Casablanca Cafe on Whitechapel Road might be one of the most underrated restaurants serving halal breakfast in East London. For some reason, it is an institution to local East Londoners, and they do have some really great halal food at a very affordable price. The cafe first opened in 2003 with a mix of Asian sweet treats and foods, served in a lowkey, very ‘greasy spoon’ locale.
If you’re on a budget or looking for a great halal breakfast in East London before running off to work, then Casablanca Cafe is one of the best addresses I could recommend. I happen to love Italian coffee, and this halal cafe has some really great Italian branded coffee they serve their customers, coupled with delicious, fresh food tainted with Asian flavors.
Halal English breakfast (HMC-certified!) or vegetarian foods – there’s something for everyone at Casablanca Cafe. However, their all-day Asian breakfast is the one to try if you’re looking to broaden your mind; paratha with eggs, aloo baji, or chana dal isn’t only delicious, but super respectful of any budget.
