The time has come for me to tell you about all the best halal Chinese restaurants in London. I love Asian food, as you might have understood since I’ve already put up the guides to the best halal Korean BBQ in London, the best halal Japanese restaurants, and the best halal Malaysian restaurants in London. Now, the time has come to tell you about all the delicious halal Chinese catering to Muslim patrons – you’re about to discover some of the best Chinese restaurants in London right now.
Before we dive any deeper into this guide to the best halal Chinese food in London, I thought you might want to discover other types of halal restaurants as well, so check that out if you’re a foodie just like me:
- The best halal steak in London
- Delicious halal Italian restaurants in London
- And the best halal burger places in London
My point is always to share with you the best halal food in Central London, and I’ve written quite a bunch of guides to halal restaurants here. I know lots of you guys were expecting this one about all the halal Chinese restaurants in London, so here we go!
11 Best Halal Chinese Restaurants in London
I don’t know why I’ve taken so long to write about halal Chinese places in London – maybe I was waiting to see and try out new places before I could make a complete review out of them. That must have been it. I love Asian food, and I feel like in time, I’ll also write a guide to the best halal Asian restaurants in London overall. Not by “cuisine”, as I’ve done with halal Korean restaurants and halal sushi, but something more, you know, mixed and blended so that you never know what you’re going to see in that guide.
For now, let’s focus on the best halal Chinese restaurant options we have going on in London. Some I’ve already mentioned in previous guides, like Zheng Chelsea which is a mix of halal Chinese and Malaysian, or P.F. Chang’s, one of the best halal restaurants in Leicester Square. This guide gathers only the best of halal Chinese restaurants in London, and I really can’t wait for you to discover all those delish places!
Halal Chinese Restaurant Central London: Chai Wu
Now, if you’re looking for a fully halal Chinese catering to Muslim patrons, then Chai Wu in Harrods might be just what you’ve been looking for. Since it’s one of the best halal restaurants in Knightsbridge, and the area is so posh, get ready to splurge. High-end and halal fine dining all the way there, from the decor to the restaurant’s philosophy.
I seem to have spent quite a bit of time around Harrods lately, what with one of the best cafes to work in London being located just a stone’s throw away, the Caffè Nero on Brompton Road. Just for the fact that it’s one of the fully halal Chinese places in London, and that they have halal duck of all, Chai Wu is defo one of the places I could recommend if you’re as crazy about duck as I am. It makes me think I should write a guide to the best halal restaurants in Chinatown at some point too.

Pan Chai and Mango Tree, also present at Harrods, are actually sister restaurants of Chai Wu, so if you’re not too sure about the menu, you can always try one of those other two restaurants. In any case, I feel like due to the colorful tastiness of each of the Chai Wu dishes, it’s one of the halal Chinese catering to Muslims in Knightsbridge that’s really worth a try. The service is outstanding, and the mix of crispiness, melty ingredients, and high-end deliciousness will really blow your mind.
Halal Chinese Restaurants in London: Novikov
I already mentioned Novikov once or twice already here, deeming it one of the best halal Japanese restaurants in London, as well as offering some of the best halal steaks all around. But to be very honest, the Asian place is nothing short of one of the top halal Chinese fusion restaurants in London. Not only sushi there, far from it.
And although that will be the perfect place if you’re looking for a setting for a great halal fine dining experience, it can be laid back enough for a low-key midweek romantic date with your other half, if you’ve got the budget. There are lots of halal restaurants in Mayfair, and I’ve always thought that Novikov was one of the most interesting ones – offering halal Chinese fusion definitely makes up for a big part of it.
As I explained in previous guides, Novikov is quite particular in the fact that it’s split into two restaurants: an Asian part, as well as an Italian restaurant (where some of the dishes are halal as well). While not all of the menu is halal at Novikov, all the halal items are clearly marked, with delicious halal dumplings opening the show, followed by halal Peking Duck with pancakes, one of my favorite dishes in the whole wide world. The fish selection is so huge and tasty that even if you choose to go meatless, you’ll still have a blast.
For a lot of us, this is one of the halal Chinese restaurants in London that will remain on the higher end of the budget spectrum, but if you’ve got an occasion going on and don’t mind splurging, then you can never go wrong with Novikov. Plus, after that, if you get to take a walk around Mayfair to digest, then you’ll have won it all.
Halal Chinese Fusion in London: Buddha Bar
Another one of the halal Chinese fusion places in London is Buddha Bar, and best believe this is one of the best halal fine dining restaurants all around. Definitely worth every penny, and not all Chinese, but rather offering some really sweet Pan-Asian dishes. I also mentioned Buddha Bar in my guide to the best halal restaurants in Knightsbridge, and it’s come a really long way in terms of halal meats since it’s opened.
It started out with an offering of just halal Wagyu beef and then became fully halal except for the duck (but then again, if you want halal duck in London, visit Chai Wu or Novikov, for instance). Buddha Bar is only open in the evenings, but it is open every day of the week. There is a dress code, and a policy for children’s admission so that’s definitely a halal fine dining restaurant in London where you can have a through-and-through romantic date.
The aim to “push culinary boundaries” really is met, with tastes from China, Japan, and Thailand blending together into each of the dishes. One thing to try from Buddha Bar? The sushi – even if you were not onto halal sushi at that time, those are some tasty pieces of life. The halal steaks are also on another level of deliciousness, and you’ll know what I mean when you try them. Do keep in mind that Buddha Bar offers alcohol, so that’s not a fully halal Chinese restaurant – up to you to decide if that’s important to you before booking!
Halal Chinese Restaurants in London: P.F. Chang’s Leicester Square

P.F. Chang’s clearly is one of the best halal Chinese restaurants in London, and if you’ve been onto halal food in Central London, then that’s definitely a place for you to visit. When you get out of Leicester Square station, it’s right there, just a few steps away. I’ve always been very attracted to P.F. Chang’s, not only because of their food but also because the decoration is really tasteful and feminine – making it the perfect halal fine dining restaurant for a romantic date.

It’s more of a halal Chinese fusion restaurant, to be fair, and P.F. Chang’s has some really interesting dishes on their menu. For one, the Dynamite shrimps are absolutely exquisite and they’ve been a go-to in P.F. Chang’s all over the world since their opening. I would recommend the Crispy Calamari and the dumplings, which are handmade – one of my favorite restaurants ever in Chinatown offers handmade dumplings and I’m crazy about that.
If you’re ready to try something new in terms of halal Chinese fusion, then I think you’d do well to visit P.F. Chang’s. The fact is, when you’re visiting London, you’re most likely to spend days around the center, and P.F. Chang’s being a halal restaurant in Leicester Square, you can hardly get more central than that!
Halal Chinese Places in London: Kai Mayfair

Now, Kai Mayfair was mentioned in the guide to the best halal restaurants in Mayfair, and for truly halal Chinese food, you’re going to be served there. Only the chicken, lamb, and beef at Kai Mayfair are halal, but that’s already a great portion of the menu covered, and of course, there are also amazing fish dishes you can order there. I’d recommend this one if you’re big on great service, as Kai Mayfair is definitely one of the best halal restaurants in London when it comes to friendly and super high-end service.
I would highly recommend booking beforehand, but it’s one of the halal Chinese catering to Muslim patrons where you can also walk in depending on the day. Of course, if you’re looking to spend a halal fine dining moment there for an occasion, like a birthday or an anniversary, do book in advance.

I cannot put into words just how delicious all of the food at Kai Mayfair is. Absolutely all of it, from the halal Wagyu beef to the prawns, and the outstanding selection of desserts. If I may give you my two cents, keep some space for a dessert – you won’t regret it one second. What else could you really expect from a halal Michelin star restaurant in London, though?
Defo a place to visit, especially if you’re staying around Hyde Park, Mayfair, Knightsbridge, or Chelsea (which has some of the most instagrammable cafes in London, by the way). A must-try if you’ve been looking for great halal Chinese restaurants in London for some time!
Halal Chinese Restaurants in London: Maximini

With Maximini, we’ve not only got a halal Chinese restaurant but one of the best halal restaurants in Bayswater all around. Located near Lancaster Gate, Bayswater and Queensway, Maximini is a restaurant owned by the designer Jimmy Choo.
That’s a pretty fun experience to dine in a halal fine dining setting owned by a couture designer, isn’t it? Well, since the food is decadently delicious, you’re going to be happy you’ve booked.

Compared to the prices I usually see around West London in halal restaurants in Knightsbridge or Mayfair, most of the dishes are actually quite affordable. All the meat is halal, and you’ll find at Maximini some flavors that you might have fallen in love with before when eating Chinese food – except this time, it’s all halal, all high-end, all just plain delicious. The mixed hot platter for two is definitely a dish I would recommend, with a mix of meats and prawns in there – just add a few sides, and you’re set. It’s just one of the best halal Chinese restaurants in London overall, but the food quality really is something else.
Since Bayswater was the very first London area I stayed in during my first visit to the city in 2014, I do have some sentimental ties to it. The fact that you can find halal Chinese food there is really a bonus, what with the whole area being safe and sandwiched between Hyde Park and very posh Lancaster Gate, where I worked for some time before being a receptionist at The Shard.
Halal Chinese Restaurants in London: Cocochan
Cocochan is… indescribable. If you’re looking for a halal restaurant in Marylebone with delicious Chinese food, bing bing, this is it. I’m always looking for the best halal Chinese places in London because I know that when my sister visits, she’ll probably want to go. With both of us being big on Chinese food and Asian cuisine in general, Cocochan brings us together, and even if it’s more of a halal Chinese fusion restaurant than a fully Chinese place, the atmosphere is so great that I would never think twice before visiting.
First of all, if you’re ever looking for halal dumplings in London, then Cocochan is the place. It’s a super instagrammable restaurant, and you can totally feel and taste that both service and atmosphere lie at the core of the Cocochan values. Then, if you’re ever looking for delicious halal sushi in London, that can also be the place – their sushi offer is super fresh and absolutely decadent. And that’s no understatement.

Between me and you, I’m quite a foodie but I’m also a simple girl. So, even in the highest-end of halal Chinese places near me, I could still get some prawns and fried rice, and as long as it’s tasty, I will be happy. And that’s where you see the quality of a fine dining restaurant, isn’t it? When the tiniest of details is perfected until it can’t be perfected anymore.
Cocochan is the it-place for a get-together with a friend, as the background for a romantic date, or to celebrate your mom’s birthday. Just a perfect halal Chinese restaurant all around, and I do recommend booking before visiting otherwise you might not be able to try their scrumptious food.
Halal Chinese Restaurants in London: Zheng Chelsea
If you’re specifically looking for a halal Chinese fusion restaurant, Zheng Chelsea is the one for you. I’ve written about the best halal Malaysian food in London before, and here is Zheng again.
Chelsea is located super close to Oxford Street, so after a good day of shopping in London, that’s a place you should visit if a blend of Malaysian and Chinese can be of interest to you. You should know that Zheng Chelsea is delicious, first of all (otherwise, it wouldn’t be in this guide, now would it).

So far, Zheng has two halal Chinese restaurants in London and Oxford. And the one in London (because I don’t go to Oxford all that often) is wow – as much in terms of service and attention to detail as in terms of food quality. Whether you order crispy halal duck, prawns, or squid, you’ll be the happiest there. Defo one of the best halal Chinese restaurants in London with flavors and service that unmistakably make Zheng what it is.
Especially if authenticity is important to you – it is to me. I feel like any restaurant that would have South Asian notes like Malay food is easily more authentic, and Zheng Chelsea is one of those halal fine dining restaurants in London that is perfect for occasions or a midweek date.
Halal Chinese Restaurants in London: Noodle Oodle
Another one of the best halal Chinese restaurants in Bayswater: Noodle Oodle. On the more affordable end of the budget rainbow, that’s one of the halal Chinese catering to Muslims that’s more simple, more family-like, more friendly, and less posh overall. I’ve found that Noodle Oodle was often very busy, especially since it’s open quite late, and the food there is incredible. Incredible.
First off, let’s start by saying that I love it when halal Chinese places in London make food themselves. I love handmade food, whether I’m talking about halal dumplings, noodles, sushi, or whatever else, really. And Noodle Oodle makes its own fresh, hand-pulled Chinese noodles. How can you not fall in love with hand-pulled noodles? The first time I ever ate fresh noodles pulled before my very eyes was in Paris, and I never got over that love.
Noodle Oodle also makes its own halal dumplings that you could couple with crispy duck and pancakes and/or fried rice. Those are always my go-to when I visit a Chinese restaurant, as I would always order a Margherita to gauge how good a halal Italian restaurant is, for instance. And the portions there being really generous, I feel like Noodle Oodle is one really laid back, cool Chinese place to visit if you’re around Bayswater, Queensway, Hyde Park, or Lancaster Gate.
Halal Chinese Fusion in London: Etles Uyghur
One of the halal Chinese restaurants in London I was most excited to tell you about is Etles Uyghyr in Walthamstow. Sure, this one is not a halal restaurant in Central London at all, what with Walthamstow being far East, but you can still get the Overground or a bus to go there. That’s one delicious halal Chinese fusion place in London, and Uyghur being a very specific type of Chinese cuisine, I feel Etles definitely belongs in this guide.
Now, Uyghur cuisine takes influences from many kinds of foods and flavors you can find in China, from Chinese cuisine to Persian, Mongolian, and Turkish. And that, brought to the city, makes one of the best halal Chinese restaurants in London. There are not many HMC certified halal restaurants in London that are about a really flavorful, date-quality cuisine. That’s also why I love Etles Uyghur.

By the way, if you’re ever around North London, Etles has another halal restaurant in North Finchley, where I currently live. For all those of you trying to discover something new, I can’t highlight enough how interesting the experience of eating authentic halal Chinese food from Etles is. Milk tea with salt, delicious soups and a quite small menu ensure you’re getting the most authentic, homemade food. And this is precisely the authenticity that makes it one of the best halal Chinese restaurants in London. That, and the flavors.
Halal Chinese Restaurants in London: Panda’s Kitchen

Panda’s Kitchen is unmistakably one of the best halal Chinese restaurants in London, and if all you’re looking for is a laidback takeaway place to make your own quiet romantic date home, then this restaurant in Forest Gate is going to tick all the boxes. I know Forest Gate is not exactly the most central area, but when you’re looking for perfect halal Chinese restaurants in London, aren’t you willing to travel for a bit to get the best food? I know I am.
Panda’s Kitchen is… wow. First off, for all of you looking for HMC certified halal Chinese restaurants in London, Panda’s Kitchen is it. No pork, no alcohol, and only halal meats are on the menu. Fried rice is delicious there – yes, I have a thing with fried rice. Noodles, rice, meats – every single ingredient is delicious and fresh. And flavorful with that!
That’s also one of the halal Chinese restaurants in London with the best service, even when you’re definitely going to be spending a fraction of what you’d be spending in Central London. This is also why I’m telling you that you should definitely try this place as soon as you get the chance. And do give a chance to the chicken satay skewers and the black bean sauce dishes – they’re going to make your day for real.

There you have them, the very best halal Chinese restaurants in London – and only the top of the best. As we’ve seen together, there’s plenty of halal Chinese catering to Muslims, and I would personally not expect less from a city like London, so open-minded and inclusive.
