I’ve actually found that a spot I particularly love to go looking for cool halal places to eat in Covent Garden is close to the actual Covent Garden market. I’ve tried to find the best HMC certified halal restaurants in Covent Garden, but the truth is HMC-certified restaurants are not that common in the center. Those would rather be around East London like Canary Wharf, or in the West, like Knightsbridge and Mayfair.

Halal Restaurants in Covent Garden: Cinnamon Bazaar
Cinnamon Bazaar is one of the very top halal places to eat in Covent Garden, and a halal Michelin star restaurant at that. Exist halal fast food London, enter Cinnamon Bazaar and its fun, twisted take on halal Indian food. This Covent Garden halal guide wouldn’t be complete without this restaurant.
Eastern and Western influences are melted down into each of the dishes cooked at Cinnamon Bazaar. The possibility to eat great fusion food certainly makes it the best halal restaurant in London. A lamb rogan josh shepherd’s pie cooked by the chefs at Cinnamon Bazaar includes cardamom-infused lamb – the first sign that you’re at one of the best halal places in London.
I would personally suggest the dessert selection in this top Indian restaurant in London if fusion food is your thing. There’s something that new halal restaurants London feature, and that’s the will to make our palate discover unexpected combinations. The base at Cinnamon Bazaar will be one of the best Indian food, twisted into futuristic, smart tastes.
It is one of the best posh halal restaurants in London without a doubt. I would recommend trying their exciting afternoon tea or their set lunch menu. Especially for an unplanned outing where you don’t want to spend too much on a restaurant in London. One of the best halal restaurants near Covent Garden.
Waldorf Hilton For a Halal Afternoon Tea
Who needs cute cafes in Covent Garden when you’ve got the Waldorf Hilton for a classy halal experience? Among the best halal restaurants in London near Covent Garden, we can count the Waldorf Hilton for delicious afternoon tea. There’s nothing that I like more when I can go to halal places in London and choose just whatever I want.
I don’t particularly eat halal food, but my sister does and I love being able to take her to any restaurant in Covent Garden that I like. If she’s able to eat some cool selections, that’s the point of going to a restaurant, is it not?
The Waldorf Hilton is definitely not one of the new halal restaurants in London. It’s not entirely halal food they serve either. Still, when you book, you can ask for halal options so they are ready when you arrive. Book and ask for halal food 48 hours in advance. From my point of view, I don’t really mind waiting if it means I’m going to get excellent food.
Afternoon tea is such a ritual and calming moment. To me, it’s just a very cool British take on the soothing Asian tea moments, but Brit-style. Anyway – Waldorf Hilton, on Aldwych, is one of the coolest posh halal restaurants in London. And one of the best Covent Garden halal options you can turn to when in need of some tea and mini-sandwiches.
Plus, the building is stunning. It really makes you want to dress up and feel good about yourself for the moment you’re about to experience. I’d definitely recommend booking a play or a movie after your afternoon tea. I mean, why not live the good stuff as long as it’s possible? Oh, while we’re talking about fancy stuff – I’ve written up this guide to the best designer outlets in London if you ever want to find cheap designer clothes. That would actually be a cool thing to do in the morning until tea time.
Halal Restaurants in Covent Garden: Cabana
Cabana London is one of the best halal restaurants in London when it comes to Latin and South American food. There, you will be served staples of Brazilian and Latin cuisine and they’re located around lots of cool cafes in Covent Garden. South American cuisine definitely is a very unexpected choice when it comes halal places in London.
Usually, when we eat halal food in London, we mostly look for Asian and Indian cuisines. Not only are they delicious, but they’re also available in quite affordable halal restaurants in London. But when you visit Cabana, you’ll be happy for taking a risk in trying out something new. There’s always good in trying new crazy things to do in London.
The ribeye, the lamb, and the chicken are all halal there. You do have options to relish, but the restaurant is not HMC certified for halal food. I still think it’s one of the cool halal restaurants near Holborn and Covent Garden to visit even by yourself. The menu is filled at Cabana with names that you probably won’t know unless you’re familiar with South American food. Yet, this is one of the best halal restaurants in London, and it rivals any halal all you can eat or fancy restaurant you could think of. By which I’m saying “trust your gut, and get lost in the experience”.
Halal Burger London: Buns & Buns
Buns & Buns is the best halal restaurant in London if you’re looking to get lost in food. The options offered by the restaurant are healthy, colorful, and seriously oozing with deliciousness. The brand Buns & Buns is actually Florida-based. Their joint in Covent Garden Piazza is one of the new halal restaurants in London, opened not too long ago.
Finally, some snow-white baos, some soft and spongy burgers, and lots of other healthy halal food in London. I certainly don’t mind traveling a bit to find the top halal places in London. Still, when it’s right there, in Covent Garden, well, that makes me happiest. And if it’s Asian food, OMG. Of course, I’m there for it.
The chicken and the beef are both halal. You know how crazy I am about chicken, whether we’re talking halal Korean fried chicken or chicken burgers. Plus, the minutious work on each makes Buns & Buns one of the best healthy halal restaurants in London. Okay, not completely healthy if you eat it every day, but you know what I mean. Amazing, fresh ingredients and all. Do order one of their delicious alcohol-free cocktails to accompany a delicious selection!
Dishoom Covent Garden
I’ve already written about Dishoom London and qualified it as one of the best Indian halal restaurants in London. Nothing could be truer. From a delish breakie to succulent dinner options, the top halal restaurants in London have nothing on Dishoom.
Read: What to do in London with £10?
Why? Because this halal restaurant in Covent Garden focuses on ethics, taste, and creativity. Tradition is woven in each and every dish – and without tradition, could it really be one of the top halal places in London?
To be honest, I’m not even sure there’s anything on the Dishoom halal restaurant menu that I don’t like. Every entrée, dessert, and main is actually very affordable – with a high-end feel. I feel like the best halal restaurant in London should always offer this kind of luxury service, with humble and delicious food options. Always a staple when you want comfort food to change from halal spots in Central London.
Halal Indian London: Masala Zone Covent Garden
I’ve already written about Masala Zone, stating that it was also one of the best halal Indian restaurants in London. I’ll persist and sign with one of the best halal places in London, Masala Zone Covent Garden.
If your palate likes creamy, tangy, and tasty all rolled into one, then that’s one of the best halal places in London to visit. I might not have included the best halal Chinese in London in this list, but those last two Indian halal joints really deserve the attention.
Masala Zone, whether with their joint in Covent Garden or their restaurant in Camden Town, always focuses very much on detail. Service and plates are top-notch, and I appreciate feeling like a queen when I visit a restaurant. Don’t you? Masala Zone is one of the halal restaurants in Central London I’ll always recommend when I’m asked.
The Royal Opera House and countless theaters and cafes in Covent Garden are scattered all around. That means you can definitely book for a naan and tikka masala craving before heading to a play, or having a digestive coffee. Your call. What’s sure is that with real balance between crunchy, creamy, and dreamy, Masala Zone is a go-to halal restaurant in London.
Halal Steak London: Angus Steakhouse Leicester Square
That’s for when you’re looking for halal restaurants in Trafalgar Square – all you need to do is walk up one street and you’re basically at Angus Steakhouse. The best restaurants with halal steak in London are something lots of us look for. I personally love ordering meat from the best halal restaurants in London – there’s a tenderness to those grilled meats that I can’t find anywhere else. If someone needs a halal option, it’s always cool for them to be able to eat meat rather than something they’re not excited about.
Angus Steakhouse in Leicester Square is not located too far from Covent Garden. Furthermore, it’s one of the greatest halal places to eat in Central London. There are not many steak restaurants in London that offer halal food, so that’s pretty cool to know about Angus. There are some halal options on the Angus Steakhouse menu that you’re bound to love. The meat, in particular, is the perfect combination of juicy, chewy, and grilled.
Lots of comfort food dishes are available at Angus Steakhouse. Since the restaurant is open from Monday to Sunday, that’s one of the halal restaurants in London where you can get your fill anytime you want.
Halal Restaurants in Covent Garden: Cafe Pacifico
A halal Mexican restaurant in London – finally! Cafe Pacifico is one very best halal restaurant near Covent Garden that you’ll love to visit. If you’re looking for an excellent Mexican restaurant, and Covent Garden restaurants still haven’t satisfied you, this is it. One of the best restaurants halal food in London that you can get – with an affordable bill.
Lots of halal diners in London are not that much of posh or fancy restaurants, and the quality is not always there, especially when we talk about halal fried chicken or proper halal fast food. And sometimes, restaurants Covent Garden come up with a gem – like Cafe Pacifico.
This is a lively, open halal food restaurant in London where the prices are actually not that high. That’s good, considering it’s located not too far from Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, and other famous spots in London. All those locations where the best halal food in London should normally cost an arm and a leg.
Still, that’s one of the top halal restaurants in London where you can get excellent Guacamole for £7.50 or amazing Jalapeno Poppers for £8. If you take your date or your mom there, you should be set at around £35-40 per head à la carte. However, you can also book a set menu for £26 or £19.50 – so check those out when you’re thinking of treating yourself.
That makes it one of the mid-range halal restaurants in London where you can get dreamy food. Great halal Mexican restaurants in London are not that easy to come by – and Cafe Pacifico’s reputation precedes it.
Steak and Co: Halal Steak in London
I don’t know about you, but when I’m looking for halal restaurants near me in Covent Garden, or anywhere else in London for that matter, halal grilled meat is what I have in mind. Or halal burgers. It’s just not worth it for me to visit a restaurant in London where they offer meat, only to read the menu and see that it doesn’t have halal options.
Grant it, not all restaurants at Covent Garden have halal options. But what I don’t want is to see other people eating meat while my Muslim friends or entourage have to eat fish or shrimp. I come from France, where a small selection of restaurants is halal. And there, all-inclusivity really isn’t that big of a thing.
Rambling apart, we’re lucky to have amazing halal grill restaurants in London. I’ve mentioned the best halal steak places in London quite a few times on The London Local already in a dedicated guide. But even outside of these halal steakhouse spots, there are many other places, not always halal, that have taken to offering a separate halal menu for Muslim customers like Mr. White’s in Leicester Square. And that’s something I admire greatly when looking for halal restaurants in me. So, Steak and Co. That’s actually one of the best restaurants in Covent Garden, and it does offer a separate halal menu. While there are not plenty of halal meats on the menu, there are halal options, and that’s something to rejoice.
The two halal steak choices would be a 280g fillet steak, and a 280g sirloin steak, both amounting to 10oz. What’s really cool about this is that you can have lunch at Covent Garden and actually cook your meat, on a stone, to the level that you want. Rare, medium-rare, or well done, you choose. There are even mocktails on the menu, and the sides and sauces lift up the halal grilled meat delicately. One of the best eateries in Covent Garden if you’re looking for a relaxed romantic date or a smooth lunch.
Christopher’s Covent Garden
I’ve mentioned Christopher’s on The London Local when I told you all about the best halal places to eat breakfast in London. If you’re looking for amazing halal restaurants in Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, or Piccadilly Circus, do take a little detour to Covent Garden. Located on Wellington Street, Christopher’s (aka Christopher’s Grill) is one of the best restaurants in Covent Garden. That is if you’re looking for delicate, modern food. Described as a Modern American restaurant, the grill place offers a high end experience at an affordable price.
In terms of halal food, that’s another one of the eateries in Covent Garden that only offers a few options on the menu. That would be the Wagyu steak, the Wagyu Burger, and the Lamb Wrap. If you’re looking to have brunch or breakfast at Covent Garden, those will roughly be the same halal options, minus the lamb wrap. However, since Christopher’s Covent Garden has been elected Best brunch in London by both Tatler and Harper’s Bazaar, I think we can trust it with delicate halal steak choices.
It is possible to preorder halal lamb 48 hours in advance, should you wish to do so. At least, you have a fine dining restaurant in Covent Garden, where it’s possible to eat the best halal wagyu steak in London. And I think we shouldn’t overlook that.
Old Chang Kee: Best Halal Restaurants in Covent Garden
Ah, I’ve been meaning to talk to you about one of the most underrated halal places to eat at Covent Garden. There are two branches to Old Chang Kee, one being the one in Covent Garden, and the other one, one of the best halal restaurants in Fitzrovia. So if you’re ever around Goodge Street, you know…
Old Chang Kee probably offers the best halal Singaporean food in London, and that’s a fact. If you’re looking for a quick joint to get lunch at Covent Garden, then the fusion food restaurant will become your best friend. A mix of Indian, Chinese, Western, and even Malaysian food, Old Chang Kee relies on influences that all give a bit more kick to their famous curry puffs.
Curry puffs? I know. Usually, when you’re looking for halal restaurants in Trafalgar Square or Covent Garden, it’s most probably because you’re craving a good halal grill. Yes, but no. I’ve got different, quicker, and perfect for those days when you’re out in London sightseeing. Since all the meat at Old Chang Kee comes from halal suppliers, you can eat your fill all that amazing halal street food in London.
A curry puff is basically the equivalent of an empanada or a samosa, but different, and delicious. But it’s not the only thing on this Covent Garden halal restaurant. If you love Malay food, they also have halal nasi lemak, chicken and vegan rendang, and fried laksa noodles.
Best Halal Restaurants in Covent Garden: Maison Bab
You know, sometimes, when you want to have lunch at Covent Garden, a quick bite is all you want. What if I told you about the best place for a halal kebab in London? Not just any kebab, but something fancy, high end, with only the freshest ingredients and sauces. That’s Maison Bab for you right there. If you’ve ever looked for halal food in Soho, then chances are you’ve come across Le Bab. Maison Bab Covent Garden is from the same family, and it’s definitely one of the best halal restaurants near Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square, and Holborn.
All the lamb and chicken at Maison Bab are halal, and they’re always working on new halal meats to include in their delicious kebabs. That’s not your usual kebab experience, far from it. Actually, as in any fancy halal restaurant, you’ll have delicious entrees such as hummus or decadent meat butter naan. Then, you can keep going with a halal or vegan kebab.
If you’re looking for a vegan restaurant in Covent Garden, because you’re with vegan people, that’s a restaurant I can warmly recommend. Their Legendary Paneer made with coconut puree, pickled cucumber, fresh beetroot, curry mayo, crispy onions, and coriander will probably make you wish you were vegan too. Kidding – try it even if you’re not vegan if only to reduce your meat intake once in a while.
There is pork on the menu, and you should know that before visiting Maison Bab. However, since the team takes so many measures to keep working on adding halal meats on the menu, cooks and prepares all ingredients separately, no cross-contamination happens in that Covent Garden restaurant.
